Regulatory Service available from H2/2026

EU Taxonomy CRVA

Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessments for EU Taxonomy-compliant reporting – from AI-powered screening to engineer-validated professional reports. Service available from H2/2026.

Coordinate-precise at 30 m resolution for every individual property – from automated screening for internal decisions to engineer-validated analysis for regulatory submissions.

What Is a CRVA?

A Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) is a systematic evaluation of physical climate risks for economic activities. The EU Taxonomy Regulation requires it as a prerequisite for classifying economic activities as "sustainable".

Every CRVA report is created coordinate-precise for the exact property location – at a spatial resolution of 30 metres based on European Copernicus satellite data. Our engineers conduct the entire process – from location capture through climate hazard analysis to the final, validated report. Modern AI tools support data processing.

Requirements

  • Complete screening of all 33 climate hazards pursuant to Appendix A of the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/2139
  • Quantitative analysis of 12 climate hazards – non-relevant hazards documented as excluded
  • High-resolution terrain analysis (30 m) based on Copernicus EU-DEM
  • Climate projections for three scenarios (RCP 2.6, 4.5, 8.5) and three time horizons (2030, 2050, 2100)
  • Materiality screening: rating scale 0–1, threshold 0.40
  • Environmental analysis: land cover, imperviousness, topography within 500 m radius
  • Location-specific analysis at the individual building level
  • Documentation of adaptation measures
  • Machine-readable results (GeoPackage, JSON)

Who Is It For?

Corporates / CSRD

Sustainability Reporting

CRVA as part of EU Taxonomy reporting under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Banks / MaRisk

Credit Risk Assessment

Physical climate risks in real estate valuation and lending in accordance with MaRisk, EBA guidelines and the ECB climate factor. Portfolio assessments for EU Taxonomy-compliant classification of real estate collateral.

Municipalities / KAnG

Climate Adaptation

Systematic climate risk analysis for municipal climate adaptation strategies under the German Climate Adaptation Act (KAnG).

Banks & Real Estate Portfolios

From H2/2026, the ECB will factor climate risks into its collateral valuation framework for refinancing operations (ECB climate factor). For banks with real estate loan portfolios, this has direct financial implications: properties without robust climate risk assessments may face reduced lending values and higher refinancing costs.

At the same time, the EU Taxonomy requires location-specific assessment of physical climate risks at the individual building level – generic estimates at postcode or regional level are insufficient. Banks need auditable, machine-readable results that integrate into existing credit risk and collateral valuation systems.

Our CRVA addresses these requirements:

  • Complete screening of all 33 climate hazards per building, 12 analysed quantitatively
  • Future scenarios (RCP 4.5, RCP 8.5) for 10- to 30-year asset lifetimes
  • Machine-readable results (GeoPackage, JSON) for integration into risk systems
  • Portfolio pricing from EUR 599/location (excl. VAT) for batch assessments of large portfolios
  • Consolidated portfolio report with risk heatmap and prioritised adaptation recommendations
